Maybe not the entire 2010 season—as is the profound case for Jolly, whom the NFL suspended indefinitely July 16 for violating its substance-abuse policy—but Green Bay braced itself for the prospect of a lengthy absence. The Green Bay Packers signed second-round pick Mike Neal on Monday, leaving only first-rounder Bryan Bulaga unsigned from April's draft. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Neal is a defensive end who played four years at Purdue. He started 23 games and appeared in 46 overall, making 99 tackles including 13 sacks.

The Green Bay Packers have signed tight end Andrew Quarless, a fifth-round pick in the NFL draft. Quarless started 29 games at Penn State. He finished his career as the Nittany Lions' all-time leader in receptions by a tight end (87) and second in receiving yards by a tight end (1,146). Quarless becomes the fourth of seven Packers draft picks to sign with the team.
